Melissa Wei-Tsing Inouye is a scholar of Chinese history and global religious movements. She currently works for the Church History Department. She was previously a senior lecturer ta the University of Auckland in New Zealand. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Harvard.  She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship at Brigham Young University. Her most recent book, Crossings: A Bald Asian American Latter-day Saint Woman Scholar’s Ventures through Life, Death, Cancer, and Motherhood (not necessarily in that order), was co-published by Deseret Book and the Maxwell Institute.
